ATTN: Seniors applying to colleges or trade schools Seniors applying to colleges or trade schools need to go on Parchment and fill out the profile to have your transcripts sent electronically. To do this go to www.westiron.org., go to middle/high school, and then to the Guidance Counselor page. Parchment will be on that page. Click on Send Transcript and fill out the profile. Once this is done, a request will come to Mrs. Veirauch and she will send out your transcript electronically to the college(s) you chose.

B. Davis Scholarship The B. Davis Scholarship is now available. The website for more information and to apply is http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm. Deadline for this scholarship is May 22, 2017 and the amount is $1000.00 If you have further questions, contact awards@studentawardsearch.com or see Mrs. Veirauch.

Americorp National & Community Service program The Americorp National & Community Service program will be accepting applications now and in the spring for young men and women ages 18 - 24 who have a passion for service, want to make a difference, and get the experience of a lifetime. Americorp is a full-time, 10 month, residential, national service program that serves projects that address critical needs related to natural resources/disasters, environmental stewardship, conservation, etc... It also works with FEMA to give young adults professional skills in emergency management on disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. You a paid a full-time wage, given housing, and a living stipend. You can also earn money for college or to pay off student dept. Email ncccnorthcentral@cns.gov for more information.

Tuition Inquiries There is a website that students can go to compare costs of different 2 yr. and 4 yr. colleges throughout the United States. Just go to www.chronicle.com/interactives/tuition-and-fees? This site lists both public and private school tuition and housing costs at most institutions. You just select the state, whether it's a 2 yr. or 4 yr. school, if it's public or private and you can look at all the different institutions at one time. Check it out. It's a great website.
